    Continued droughts lead to the spread of deserts, or desertification.
  12. climate change
    a shift in the world's average weather and temperature
    Climate change refers to long-term trends in weather patterns, including changes in temperature, rainfall, wind patterns, or storm frequency.
  13. interdependent
    mutually reliant
    They showed how interdependent nations have become.
  14. stabilize
    keep from fluctuating or put into an equilibrium
    The World Bank focuses on stabilizing the global economy.
