The Lost Hero: Chapters 1–8

This first book of The Heroes of Olympus series introduces fifteen-year-olds Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdez, who are unaware that they are demigods until they are attacked on a school field trip and transported to Camp Half-Blood, where they also learn that Percy Jackson has disappeared and Hera has been imprisoned.

    Before Chiron could say anything, footsteps reverberated on the porch outside.

    The front door blew open, and Annabeth and another girl, a redhead, burst in, dragging Piper between them. Piper’s head lolled like she was unconscious.

    As soon as I got to camp, I had a premonition about Hera’s cabin.
