    I steal a glance toward the jocks, where there’s an empty chair beside Miguel, as conspicuous as a missing tooth in a row of veneers.
  13. whet
    make keen or more acute
    William says, “Jae, you look awfully sullen today. The grotesquely greasy grilled cheese doesn’t whet your appetite?”
  14. gargantuan
    of great mass; huge and bulky
    “Swan had a gargantuan crush on Valeria last year.”
  15. dysfunctional
    impaired in function; especially of a bodily system or organ
    I always wonder how she can’t see herself in these tragic, dysfunctional Bollywood relationships.
