Someone who's foresighted is skilled at planning for the future based on what's likely to happen. Your foresighted dad baked extra brownies just in case you invited the whole Ultimate Frisbee team over after school.

It's foresighted to predict or guess what's most likely to happen. The word comes from foresight, which uses the Old English prefix fore-, or "before," and was originally defined as "insight obtained beforehand." Everyone else may be surprised by the sudden deluge during your hike, but you checked the weather report and brought along a raincoat; that was very foresighted of you!
