John Milton

John Milton was an English poet, polemicist, man of letters, and civil servant for the Commonwealth of England. Milton's masterpiece, the blank-verse epic poem Paradise Lost, was composed 1658 to 1664, with small but significant revisions published in 1674. As a blind poet, Milton dictated his verse to a series of aides in his employ.
