Cynthia Leitich Smith is a best-selling author of fiction for children and young adults. A member of the Muscogee Creek Nation, she writes fiction centered on the lives of modern-day Native Americans. Her novel Hearts Unbroken was the winner of an American Indian Youth Literature Award. She also edited and contributed to Legendary Frybread Drive-In, a winner of both the Michael L. Printz Award and the American Indian Youth Literature Award.
