Eleanor Coerr (1922-2010) was a writer of children's books. She is best known for Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, a historical fiction novel based on a true story of a young girl who lived in Hiroshima, Japan, when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.
