  1. cram
    crowd or pack to capacity

    Glut means "too much." Glutire is a Latin verb meaning "to swallow" or "to gulp."

    To gorge is to overeat. Gorge means "throat" in French.

    fill to contentment

    If you are sated after a meal, you're pleasantly full, but not overstuffed. Sate, satiate, and satisfy all come from the Latin verb satiare, meaning "to satisfy one's hunger or thirst."

    Surfeit means "too much" or "an excess." It comes from the French surfait, which means "overdone."
