Jane Addams is best known as a leader in the Settlement House Movement and the founder of Hull House in 1899. In her efforts to raise immigrants and the poor into the middle class she also became a Suffragist, a woman who advocated for the right to vote. She published this article in the "Ladies Home Journal" in 1910.
