The first and only Vice-Presidential debate was held on October 4, 2016 in Farmville, Virginia. Both Governor Mike Pence, Republican from Indiana, and Senator Tim Kaine, Democrat from Virginia, were seated around a table for the debate, and this may have contributed to the relatively polite nature of the proceedings.
