    “Oh, by the way…” Yujin segues seamlessly. “Would you believe it if I told you that my best friend back home looks like your twin?”

    a person who is almost identical to another
    Yujin looks serious now. “It’s true,” she says, nodding. “An actor who gets entangled with their doppelganger either goes insane or dies. It’s said that there are a total of three clones for each of us, including ourselves.”

    a flower that is worn in a buttonhole
    Taken individually, his features are handsome, but on the canvas of his face, they come together as a work of art. Against this level of perfection, the red rose boutonniere on his lapel is a mere afterthought.

    As the guest of honor, I’m seated next to Bonwhe at the VIP table on the dais, and I’m helped to my seat just as the president is concluding her celebratory address.
  14. bigwig
    the most important person in a group or undertaking
    Everyone is anxious to meet the bigwigs, but Bonwhe, in particular, is in high demand.
  15. stanchion
    any vertical post or rod used as a support
    I duck under the rope and flatten my back to the wall, and just as I do, one of my shoes slips off. The darned thing lies on the floor by the brass stanchion.
