valorously

Valorously is an adverb that describes anything that's done with extreme bravery. Think of firefighters rushing valorously into a burning building or a child with stage fright valorously taking over the leading role in a play.

Act with strength, boldness, and heroism, and you've behaved valorously. This adverb is most often used to describe actions that put someone in physical danger, like soldiers in battle. You can use this word any time you face danger with courage: "She valorously dove into the stormy ocean water to rescue the little boy." The Latin root, valere, means "be strong."
