Other forms: reacquainted; reacquainting; reacquaints
To reacquaint is to get to know someone again, or to become familiar with something once more. If you move back to Boston after several years in Tokyo, you might have to reacquaint yourself with the subway system.
When you meet your best kindergarten pal again after years apart, you're going to have to reacquaint yourselves. And if you haven't ridden a bike for ten years, you'll need some time to reacquaint yourself with riding before you can ride on the street with confidence. Reacquaint adds the Latin-derived prefix re-, "again or anew," to acquaint, from the Vulgar Latin accognitare, "to make known."
