Other forms: glisteningly
Glistening things sparkle and shine with light. The glistening surface of a lake is especially beautiful as the sun rises in the morning.
Long, clean, shiny hair is glistening, and a child's eyes brimming with tears are glistening as well. Your whole neighborhood, lit with tiny white Christmas lights, might also be glistening. Anything that shines in a sparkly, glittery, or damp way is glistening, and the word stems from the Old English glisnian, "to glisten or gleam."
