flecked

Flecked means "dotted" or "speckled." Your favorite of all your backyard chickens might be the white and gray flecked hen.

You could say that a chocolate cake sprinkled with glitter is flecked, or describe a snow flecked field in late November. Your favorite curtains in your grandmother's house might be the pink flecked ones that hang in the kitchen. The verb fleck means to dot or scatter, and it comes from an Old Norse root word, flekka, "to spot."
