A URL is a web address — it's what you type in a browser or what pops up when you click on a link.
Everything on the internet has an address, or URL. Although you may not have given it much thought, if you've been online, you've seen countless URLS near the top of your screen. They're made up of letters, words, numbers, and characters, and often end in .com, .org, or .edu. URL is short for "uniform resource locator."
