Chihuahua

Other forms: Chihuahuas

Chihuahua is one of Mexico's 31 states. It's also a tiny breed of dog that's named after that state.

Located in northwestern Mexico, the state of Chihuahua shares a long border with the U.S. Its capital city is also called Chihuahua. It's the largest Mexican state, while the dog that shares its name is one of the world's very smallest breeds. In Chihuahua, these little round-headed dogs are known as Chihuahueños, or "from Chihuahua." They're bred to be devoted companions with feisty personalities.
